April Dominick, PT, DPT

April delivers evidence-based care tailored to her patients’ individual needs in pelvic health, including: pre-natal/post-partum care, orthopedic conditions, pelvic pain and bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunctions. Her treatment philosophy stems from her passion to empower patients to reach their optimal potential through movement, coupled with a sound understanding of the mind and body connection.

April was born in California and grew up in the great state of Texas, where she discovered her love of tacos, bluebonnets, and weekends in the hill country watching college football. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, she worked as a research lab manager for the Center for Learning and Memory at the University of Texas. Using fMRI scans, she studied how the brain supports memory, specifically how past experiences influence learning in the present. April craved a career which incorporated her love of science with direct personal engagement, helping patients achieve their maximum health and well-being. Thus, she pursued and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX.

During her early years as a physical therapist, April provided exemplary care to patients at all levels, primarily those with neurologic and orthopedic conditions. She expanded her physical therapy training by completing a year-long certification in orthopedic manual therapy, which provided her with a solid foundation to skillfully treat pelvic health patients with complex underlying orthopedic conditions. April has also completed numerous continuing education courses focusing on female/male pelvic health dysfunction, pregnancy and post-partum care, and pain neuroscience. After the successful completion of a written case study, she earned a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health from the National Section on Women’s Health.  After building her expertise in pelvic health, April had the unique opportunity to help establish and develop a successful hospital-based pelvic health rehabilitative program in Houston, TX.
