Emily received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UW-Madison as she wasn’t quite ready yet to leave her love for cheese, the Madison lakes, and the Packers. Following a year as a travel PT, she moved back to Minnesota, her home state, to work in the Twin Cities in outpatient orthopedics. She specialized in work with runners, low back, hip, and pelvic pain. After sitting for her Certified Orthopedic Specialist exam, she decided to further specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy and continued to advance her orthopedic manual skills through ongoing coursework.
She helped to develop a pelvic floor therapy program while in Minnesota, but with a love for the mountains, hiking, being active, and sunshine, she decided to make the move to Colorado to further pursue this passion. Through her background in orthopedics prior to pelvic floor therapy, Emily feels strongly about treating the “whole person” and educating them to care for themselves as well as advocate for others to receive the care they need.
Prior to her move to Colorado, Emily traveled to Haiti to learn about the local culture, help to educate local providers, and provide orthopedic and pelvic floor PT services in a small community on the northern coast. She hopes to continue providing service within the local Denver community as well as possible service trips abroad in years to come.
When not in the clinic, Emily loves to swim, bike, and run with her dog, Ollie, while exploring all the beauty of Colorado. As a new resident of Colorado, she loves advice on what area to venture to next!
